Kārearea Water Safety Skills

Rōpū Kārearea have enjoyed a week of water safety lessons in our pool. We have covered lifejacket use, safety in a kayak and how to rescue a person who is in trouble in the water while keeping yourself safe. A massive thank you to the local Scout group and Virginia de Lima for the loan of kayaks […]

Safe Cycling

The school has been enjoying cycling lessons this week. We focused on safe road riding, signalling, stopping and showing courtesy to others. The tamariki demonstrated excellent control and balance in our ‘slow race’.

School Garden

Before the birds get too hungry our School Garden/Enviro team picked some of the fruit from our trees. Mrs Orr cut the fruit and veges up for us to try. All of Rōpū Kea got to try some and we loved it. Some of us even had thirds. We tried apple, pear and cucumber.

Non Competitive Swimming

What an amazing day on Wednesday at the Eyre Cluster Non Competitive Swimming competitions. Our children competed in width or length races of Freestyle, back stroke or breast stroke against Cust, View Hill and Swannanoa schools. They made us so proud with the way they competed and tried their hardest with some great results.

Senior PE

A great day to be out with the Sports Coaches today. Our focus in the lessons was around co-operative and team games building our relationships with each other.
